Two birds with one stone opportunity: water your beans and plants at the same time.
*disclaimer* don't actually pour scalding water onto your plants.

How to properly start a Monday.
I got a little bit greedy with my stacks in the pour and the last two were crammed together. But I'm happy with how the design filled the cup.
Wishing you all a well caffinated Monday!

The method of brewing that I choose when I feel the need to slow it down. While the entire process of a pour over really isn't all that long, the intentionality is what I long for. Each step and pour of the process requires attention to detail. First with weighing out the beans, selecting the correct grind size, warming up the coffee craft, and finally the pours.
It's just a few moments for my mind to fully focus on one thing and create a tiny pocket of peace. Then in turn, it yields a delightful brew for me to sip on. And this particular brew was somewhat bittersweet as it used up the last bit of the Spring Equinox beans from @sightglass
I used a 1:16 brew ratio: 15 grams of beans, 50 ml for the bloom, and 100 ml for the second and third pour.
Total yield 250 ml.

Teaching him how to dial-in the espresso. ☕️
Truthfully he was being a velcro-toddler, that day, but that just means that he gets to watch and learn about whatever it is that I'm doing. I'm quite grateful for my spring loaded tamper, though.
It comes in clutch when I only have one arm available.
Some day he'll stop asking me to hold him, so for now, I'll carry him whenever and wherever. And I still managed a decent pour while carrying a lil tot. 😏

Taking a break from latte art for a good old long black.
I've been brewing up @domacoffee Oberon's espresso blend which came in with my recent @tradecoffeeco subscription.
It's a delightful medium roast with notes of dried apricot, nutmeg, and cocoa. The espresso has a light sweetness to it and makes for a great cortado.
I want to brew it as a pour over later today to see how the notes compare when brewed as an espresso.
Happy new week of brewing!

Always a good time along the coast(and the gorge) and an even better time when my sister is here to enjoy it with me. We found a pretty big rock just chilling right in the ocean. 😏
Some pictures of us were taken by my sister-in-law(shout to her🩷)

The feeling of watching a heavy rainfall while sipping on the morning brew is just lovely. I had the windows cracked open yesterday to let in the delightful scent of the rain in.
Today the weather is much the same and I'm thoroughly enjoying the moody atmosphere it brings. The grass and moss all around are becoming more vibrant and lush from all the rain. It's quite serene to see it through the window.
Anyways, I hope you're enjoying the weather wherever you may be. Happy brewing to you all today!

That first sip of morning coffee
-filmed by my sister.🫰🏻
Brewed up a dark roast with toasty, nutty, and orange zest notes. The espresso is quite delicious on its own and I could sip on it straight up.
I really need screen monitor mount for my camera so I can actually capture my pours when filming solo. It seems I'm always just a hair or of frame or focus.
Also, I seem to have lapsed in my ability to pour latte art. I suppose that means I need to make more lattes to practice.
Happy brewing to you all today!

Took the scenic route by the gorge the other day and saw plenty of waterfalls and lush greens. The dreary weather was rather a nice ambient touch and fitting for the PNW.
It was my first time seeing multinomah falls and it certainly did not disappoint.
