Earth's Stewards 000
A taste of a long-term project I've had in mind for a while. Pretty different to the stuff I've been putting out, but it's time I pushed myself to do something different.
I've met remarkable souls that embody stewardship, but often don't realise they do or are too humble to claim the role.
Be it ecology, teaching, activism, fashion, music etc.
This project is an invitation to celebrate those radical acts of care.
Thanks to @sinthomocephale for the modelling, conversation and patience! Portraiture is something I'm trying to learn and take more seriously, so thanks for letting me have a go :) Botched the edit a bit but it's all practice! Look forward to more stuff like this over the years γβ (β κͺβ κ³β κͺβ )β γ
(about time I start a long-term project. I hate posting on Instagram, I will be switching up the direction of how I present my photos and conversations as I get used to this format. Wanna get involved and help? Reach out! I'm gonna need all the help I can get.)
'Wasteman' Premier Screening at @w_shed by @weareparable
Now that I've seen the Q&A and taken photos for the premier, I need to see this film. The audience was left in a bit of a shock by the end...πΏπΈ

Bristol learning to Love
A collection of photos taken during Women's March against the Far Right on Valentine's Day.
Good to be back taking photos and seeing love beat hate.
Do you think play is a form of love-full resistance? I've written a poem on the act of play. People are telling me to post it on Substack, so maybe look out for that soon :)

Bristol Protest at the Mercure Hotel.
Particularly brutal day, with fascists and police laughing and praising each other. The people pulled through one more time for the refugees that gave so much love through the windows.
Bristol is antifascist.

Queens Square Dance Stage for Bristol Harbour Festival 2025!
Each act was owning the floor and the encouragement from loved ones was great to see :)
Never have I danced so much, in so many different styles, all while taking photos π΅βπ«
I joined in on the Indian classical dance workshop near the tail end of the show, and it was so much fun! Especially getting to see a dance style tied to my heritage, shared with the crowd.

Windrush Celebration Day at the Trinity Centre.
A powerful day to honour the Windrush generation and the influence of Caribbean communities in Britain. Talks on Malcolm X, a great DJ set and an amazing selection of books to splurge a little on.
Ended the day at a park amongst local people, enjoying a few drinks, smokes and jokes.

Had a great poster-making meeting with the Rising peeps about how we can step up to be who we are! It's always lovely to chat and connect with such amazing people :)

The following photos and posts capture my experience on the national march against Tommy Robinson and his fascist minions.
Fascism is on the rise globally as more and more people are alienated by the state, and they turn to the far right, who single out the most vulnerable in our societies as the key reasons for their suffering material conditions. Historically and now, the left have always opposed and fought fascists to keep them off our streets, and have been successful countless times. The reasons for the deterioration of your material conditions is down to the exploitation of the rich on the working class. Not because of immigrants nor trans people nor people of colour nor disabled people stealing from the welfare system. The rich consistently steal billions of wages, while extracting funding from the NHS and polluting our waters. Using inflation and proxy wars as a veil for corporate greed to raise prices indiscriminately. Spending billions on union busting, while a fraction could be used to settle contract negotiations. All while using your tax, to drop bombs on fellow humans who have no choice but to become refugees or be buried under rubble.
There is an alternative, join your local community groups, copwatch groups, unions and anti-racist groups etc. Whatever brings us closer to dismantling colonial empire. Pressuring those in power works, in the end they rely on our obedience and labour.
