I’m officially self-published! My poetry, heart, tears, and soul in the most vulnerable time of my entire life are here on these pages. Grief is strange and familiar and void and overwhelming and comforting and wise and immature and—this is one of the stories of grief I’ve experienced. This is one of many. The grief of this book is incomparable to the grief I have now. And the grief I have now is incomparable to then. Thank you to anyone who has read my poetry—there is too many of you incredible people to put into one post. Thank you to the people who held me then and who continue to hold me now. Thank you to the divine that gave me the gift of storytelling and emotions. Thank you to my ancestors who move alongside me in this world. Thank you to the sun that rises and sets, to the earth that continuously moves, to the moon that guides in the dark. Thank you to the island and ocean that raised my mom and the departed and living souls that raised my dad. Thank you to @thebookstoreappletonwi for giving me a home to sell my work and for the joyful work environment filled with laughter (mostly mine).
