Dear Grandma Pat,
My Virgin Island Queen 🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮, as I sit down to writing this letter 7088 miles away, right before going into practice yesterday my heart is heavy with both sorrow and gratitude. The time has come for me to say goodbye, but it feels like no words can truly capture what you have meant to me. From my earliest memories, growing up in South Miami Townhouses with you, long walks to KFC, to you taking me to Lee Park for me to play, you have been a constant source of love, wisdom, and warmth. Your stories transported me to different times and places, filling my imagination with wonder and my heart with love. You taught me the importance of prayer, the strength in gentleness, and the value of laughter. Your encouragement was my guiding light. I will forever cherish the times we spent together. You were able to see me play basketball on all 3 levels of my basketball career and were able spend time with your great-grandkids and I can’t be more thankful. A day in the kitchen with you making Johnnie cake for me while sipping on some coffee will forever be missed.
You have been my confidante, my mentor, and my dearest friend. You celebrated my triumphs with pride and held me close through my tribulations, always offering a listening ear and a comforting word. Grandma Pat, you have lived a life full of grace, kindness, and love. You have touched the lives of so many with your gentle spirit and generous heart. As I say goodbye, I carry with me the lessons you’ve taught, the love you’ve shared, and the incredible impact you’ve had on my life. Thank you for being my grandmother, a role model, and my friend. I will hold you in my heart forever, and your legacy will continue to inspire me every day. Rest in peace queen , you and Nennie are resting peacefully. Until we meet again I ❤️YOU my angel. 👼🏽✊🏾🙏🏾💟🕊️🇻🇮👸🏽✝️🕊️🇻🇮🤞🏾♾️💔🕊️🏁🇻🇮
With all my love your grandson,
