Michigan Glass Project is transforming the @russellindustrialcenter into a festive wonderland PACKED with Detroit artisans & makers. Think glass, pottery, clothing, art, jewelry, and vendors galore!
Expect live glass, painting, and pottery demos, hands-on kids arts & crafts, glass & tie-dye experiences, silent auctions, giveaways, a snow globe photobooth, Santa sightings, and delicious food & drink vendors!
So come out and support Detroit’s creative community and soak up all the merriment!

We had a total blast casting glass yesterday! Thanks to everyone who came out to our first Glass Experience Workshop in collaboration with @michiganhotglass ! It felt so good to be in community with everyone. Our hearts are full and the visions are blooming. Can’t wait to do it again soon! May 17th! Experience the art of glass casting.
"A Glass Experience" is our first ever, instructional and hands-on event. An amazing intro into 4 methods of manipulating glass, this one day event gives you the opportunity to experience one or all of these classes:
🔥Hot shop – Gather, shape, and form molten glass.
🔥Glass casting – Pour molten glass into sand molds to create a cast glass relief.
🔥Flamework – Torch work for intricate sculpting and bead-making.
🔥Coldwork – Explore faceting, polishing, and finishing techniques.
We're offering 8 sessions per class, each session includes 15 minutes of guided instruction followed by 45 minutes of hands-on learning led by experienced glass artists.

I recently traveled to Pittsburgh to attend the closing reception for the exhibition ”Shaping the Future: National Showcase of Emerging Sculptors” where I got to meet the other 2024 Outstanding Student Achievement In Contemporary Sculpture Award Recipients! Had a blast and was beyond impressed with all of the work!!
