Great linebacker drill to do to improve reducing the surface .
1st. Over-exaggerate the movement from a stationary square stance
2nd. Close distance on the lineman (the pole is the lineman in this matter?m) and reduce surface.
3rd. Stack the blocker and close space on ball carrier. Be sure to come to balance.
PS- I would like to see @_mbj08 have his eyes!
My brother @keeezy5 originally introduced the reduce surface stationary movement with the cones to me. Something I now incorporate with many different position groups!

📌 Why In-Season Training is Non-Negotiable
A lot of people think once the season starts, you just play and forget the weights. That’s the biggest mistake athletes can make.
In the off-season we build up —…strength, speed, power — hitting a peak phase so your body is ready to perform. But in the in-season, you’re in battles every single week: taking hits, jumping, cutting, pushing, pulling. Your body is like a knife… sharp at the start, but the more you use it, the duller it gets.
That’s where in-season lifting comes in. The goal isn’t to get sore or crush big PR…it’s to keep the body strong, durable, and sharp: • 🦵🏿 Hips & legs for explosive cuts and verticals • 🦵🏿 Achilles & lower body to stay springy and avoid breakdown • 💪🏿 Shoulders & upper body to hold up through contact • 🧠 Nervous system to keep reaction time and power crisp
Think of it as maintenance with intent. You’re holding onto the strength and power you worked so hard for in the off-season, and protecting yourself from plateauing or breaking down.
At the end of the day ….it’s just like sharpening that knife. You don’t wait until it’s completely dull. You keep it sharp so it can do the job every single time.
