Traveling to Ittoqqortoormiit was my first encounter with Greenland, and it hit me in a way I didn’t expect. The sheer scale of it, the towering mountains, floating icebergs, and the way everything shifts with the light, felt almost unreal. No fences, no borders, just raw, untamed land shaped by time and weather. It’s a place that doesn’t just exist; it has a presence, a spirit of its own.
Being there made me think about our responsibility to protect places like this. Greenland doesn’t need us, neither US, but we can learn from it, how to exist with respect, without trying to control.
