Thank you so much @sofarsoundsleicester for having me last night ❤️🔥 It was a such a pleasure to be surrounded by all those books, in a room full of people who are open and interested enough to show up and discover new music the old fashioned way.
My little brain has been feeling oversaturated beyond belief recently (I know I’m not alone in this) and I’ve felt an urgent need to consume + process things at a slower pace. For the past two weekends, I’ve found myself trawling bookshops and feeling super nostalgic for the library of my childhood_ My mum would take my brother and I to the library every couple of weeks and we’d pile the maximum allowance of books into our little baskets and rush home to read and read (and read and read).
This memory (and need) has been so loud in my thoughts the past few weeks, that it felt bizarrely synchronistic when I discovered the Sofar Session would be in the Leicester Central Library.
After last night, I’m feeling charged up for the quest to protect my imagination (and attention span). Let’s stop fking about and just like go to concerts and read some books 📚 Any and all book recommendations welcome in the comments!
