Leonard Bernstein said “to achieve great things, two things are needed; a plan, and not quite enough time.” As an artist, I would say a third is needed, the support of your tribe.
Today I bring you a bizarre and personal project called FOCUS. I hope the abstract narrative will be different and true for everyone who sees it. Let it stand as a signal of my determination to live a life of creativity.
If I have any skill in this life it’s connecting with kind, generous and brilliant human beings. This project is the result of my friends giving their time to help me realize another one of my crazy ideas. Jess Hammer was not only the inspired Art director, but a true friend during this project. Sunil Devadanam never fails to amaze in his ability to turn my incoherent rambling into beautiful images. Every member of the crew deserves the same thanks.
A great dept of gratitude goes to the following people:
Jess Hammer: Art Director
Sunil Devadanam: Cinematographer
Andy Kuester: Focus Puller
Cory Feezer: Gaffer
Alexis Arenas: Make-up Artist
Jillian Kalin: Producer
Alun Walpole: Shadow Performer
Jamal Rawlings: Shadow Performer
Cameron Reeve: Editor
And a special thanks to Will Iversen, Mike Wilson, Larry Lathrop, and Abby Farina.

|Foam and family|
In the “wake” of current events, I find certain truths come to the surface. I don’t always live the life I believe in. It’s so easy to lose yourself in the game of the daily rush. This crazy world we are living in is bringing attention to the important things we’ve neglected. I hope we can all spend some time with those we love and the things we love doing. Here’s to getting back out on the water with my fam. |
