Second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour: Time moves and moves in circles, always heading towards 12 o’clock. High Noon is the tipping point of the day, the brightest moment; its nocturnal counterpart is called midnight. But what if time suddenly collapses? If the clocks start ticking differently, and a multitude of otherworldly beings come to life? Then it’s high time for miracles to happen and myths to whisper: Opaque figures and obscure objects tell stories about their very essence. They invent fairy tales and weave legends where time stretches, contracts, or even stops altogether, there, in the echo chambers of time no longer deferred. Where there’s no „five-minutes-to-midnight“ warning—or is there?
In the exhibition „High Noon in the Magic Forest,“ Lars Unkenholz, Marlene Kargl, Nschotschi Haslinger, and Magdalena Frauenberg dream of another world—or rather, several new worlds. They dream of places where yesterday, today, and tomorrow no longer apply, but where the simultaneity of stories opens up new spaces of imagination.
