As a part of my thesis, I wrote recipe cards. I call them memento recipe for friends.
‘For a long time, my friends asked me how to make something I have served for them but I usually say I don’t really have a recipe for it. In the weeks leading up to finishing this writing, I have been cooking as if I had 8 children to feed. I call my friends to bring them this food or bring it to share at school. The recipes that are on these cards are a mix between things I have never made and things that are related to personal memories for me. This is a way of documenting with taste. Food carries so much memory for me. It is like that certain colour of light that reminds you of a comfort space, like the smell of your home you only smell after coming back from vacation or that song that transports you back somewhere you forgot.’
If anyone is interested in a copy of the book or postcards, let me know.
The book is hand bound, some lino prints and sewing.

A series of aprons, adorned with color and shine. Created to romanticize life, almost always. Because the domestic can be freeing, the domestic can break from what we thought it was.
