@_luzee for RGT09, the ninth entry in the cassette series curated by the label.
“Afro Sketches” is a tribute to African and Afro-descendant music, built around samples from old field-recording albums from Africa and South America. Luzee echoes their rhythmic essence and reshapes it from a beatmaker’s perspective.
Produced mainly on MPC and SP-404, the project was mixed and dubbed through a vintage Tascam M208, giving the tape its warm, textured identity.
Inspired by artists like Madlib (Sound Ancestors), Al Dobson Jr, and Ras G, Luzee offers his own authentic and deeply rooted reinterpretation.
Active since 2017, Luzee blends electronic and hip-hop elements in his instrumental work, collaborating with artists such as
