Her favorite days are at the beach for sunset or on the trails for a morning run. She’s a blessing and a handful. It’s easy to romanticize escaping the present to live a glamorous alternative. That’s the one of the great tricks of acting and of the theatre. Escapism. Wonder. An elevation of life out of the present for a while. As an actor, to join a new family of strangers and inhabit a co-created world for a short, intense time. It’s my favorite. And it costs a lot. This little snap makes me feel like I should have been living in the 40s. I was primarily the photog for this production of A Street Car Named Desire, but I also played the doctor and delivery fella to round out the stellar cast while I was there shooting and I’m glad I got a snap of me with this Wiley little stache.

Century Sisters is a short film about my Great Aunt, Annamarie, and my Grandmother, Betty, leading up to Annamaries 109th Birthday. They were sisters for 95 years being the youngest and oldest daughters of a family of 8 children, married to brothers, roommates for 40 years, and sweet as pie. As Annamarie’s 109th birthday approached I knew I needed to make a film inquiring into the long livers they were living so closely together. I wanted to have the deeper conversation that might yield those nuggets of gold that would otherwise go undiscovered from the two oldest family members. What I got was more than I could have hoped for. I hope you enjoy the film.
