It felt very vulnerable sharing my latest creation, still in its gestation period. Yet I feel extremely grateful to have shared the evening with some incredible artists. Thank you to those who shared feedback, asked questions about my branch and talked to me about trees, and a huge thank you to Scratch @lightspaceleeds for having me.
The finished piece will be fully birthed at Voyeurs @milk_teeth_productions in May before we head over to @sxtecheu Berlin
Reclaiming the body doesn’t just mean that it no longer belongs to others. There’s a step beyond that.
It means fully coming back into yourself. To experience the delight (and pain) of being a body. To be in relationship with your bones, muscles and fluids. To experience gravity and levity, to know what it means to yield, allowing self to surrender into Self.
My body is mine. It lives, it breathes and it feels. How delicious is that?!
Moments of exploration and yield captured beautifully by @sallymolineaux . I watch it and see muscle beneath flesh and the architectural support of my bones. I sense the cells of my skin, alive and receptive, in communication with the environment. Everything moving together, nothing is dormant, all is connected.
Lastly, I see a suspension video
UNdomestication
Firstly I’d like to extend my gratitude to Amy and Tanya of @den_of_delirium for so generously allowing me the time and space to pour this piece out of my head and into such a large event. When I was asked to perform I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to offer, so to then be allowed to bring my first durational piece to the show was quite the dream.
I’ll be doing a full write up of this performance on my Patrė0n, along with sharing all the documentation. There will be more on this to come, but for now here are some snippets captured by my dear friend @agnieszkabrewood .
Thank you to all those who stopped by to watch the process.
The day begins with @_lamonstera and @icon.fetish with Rope Garden exploring tension, trust and technique before the atmosphere shifts into ritual performances, underground energy and late-night celebration.
@_kyliedarling opens the path into Red Moon Party, @catmint.dj ignites the dancefloor, while @mpiech.art , @marie.sauvage@icon.fetish and @nina_noctra bring performance, atmosphere and embodied expression into the night.

After their beguiling shibari performance at Voyeurs last year, we’re excited to welcome Kylie Darling back.
Kylie Darling is a Deaf, neuroqueer, somatic movement facilitator, rope practitioner and performance artist.
Kylie will be performing at @sxfestival in Berlin this June and we are excited that you'll be able to take a sneak peek at our Launch of Voyeurs.
Wytch is an embodied exploration into transgressive aspects of femininity, moving through archetypal stages of womanhood. Pushing back at the tidy, neat container that patriarchy shaped for woman and returning back to mulch. Entwined with nature, a shapeshifter that finally acknowledges her place within all things. Through shibari and organic movement inspired by Butoh, Kylie slips into somatic storytelling going deep into the woods.
We told you we have lots of special treats for you.
Event: Voyeurs Launch and Short Film Night - Programme 1
Date: Thurday 14th May, 7pm
Where: Assembly House
Kylie will also be hosting two rope play workshops on Saturday 16th May.

Beauty is just at home in decay as it is in youth.
It holds space for the grotesque and obscene. Springtime beauty has its brief flicker, but not in these slowly ageing bones. What awaits is so much more entrancing to me
39 years with this body. Entering the final year of my thirties feels pretty damn good.
We have two Rope workshops on Saturday 16th May with @_kyliedarling as part of the Voyeurs Weekend
Rope Basics: Single and Double Column Ties
Playing around with simple ties can open us up into creativity. Within rope, complexity isn't needed to have a good time.
Within this session we’ll be breaking down and practising both single and double column ties. With simple and effective restraint we can play around with shapes that don’t require a revised catalogue of elaborate ties- it’s amazing how much fun can be had with the basics!
This workshop can be done as a self tying or with a partner, perhaps even an opportunity to work with a new friend.
Time: 12.30pm-2pm
Price £14
Somatic Rope: RopePlay/ BodyWork
Using the medium of rope and somatics to develop connection and understand body language.
Rope should expand beyond the technical and be fully experienced through the body in order for playtime to have depth and intimacy.
Within this workshop, we’ll dive deep into somatic practices as a way of exploring boundaries and opening our ability to communicate. We’ll look into reading body language and understanding body movement to create meaningful experiences that aren’t driven by creating aesthetically focused shapes, but allow full presence with those we share space with.
Attending solo is welcomed, however being partnered isn't guaranteed. Practice adaptations will be offered to those who prefer to practice by themselves.
Time: 2pm - 3.30pm
Price £14
These two sessions will run back to back and you are welcome to stay to both. If you book both you will automatically receive a discount.
All abilities welcome.
