AI is the king of the average. Average is fast. Special takes time. As creatives, it’s important to use AI as a tool — not to become the tool of AI. This film was not made in three minutes. It also cost a lot more than €30 in credits. Because there was a vision. 🎬 Battle of Flavors Making a film about the five flavours had been in my head for a long time. But bringing the idea to life was always too expensive. With the help of AI, it finally became possible. The idea: a fashion-film aesthetic where the five flavours appear as female models — Sweet, Salty, Bitter, Sour and Umami. Each awakens in her own world and suddenly breaks out of it, running until their paths finally cross. 🍬 Concept Characters and worlds were developed with Weavy, starting from the first frames. The goal was not to make the flavours too obvious visually — avoiding the typical clichĂ©s while still keeping the idea readable. 🧠 Process Most of the video generations were done with Kling 3.0. Around 25,000 credits later, the film slowly started to take shape. Additional shots were generated with Higgsfield while waiting for Kling renders. What’s funny about AI: You can generate anything in minutes. But generating exactly what you imagine still takes time. ⌛ Time is the foundation of every film. 24 frames per second create movement – yet this second can be stretched or compressed. That’s exactly what fascinates me. It’s why I love both high-speed shots and time-lapses. 🍕 In this project, two of my favorite themes come together: time and food. Creating moving time-lapse shots inside an oven is especially tricky. You need a special glass oven for proper lighting and a motion-control system to generate precise camera moves. Quite a complex setup. ❓ So the question was: Can AI do this today? With a start frame and an end frame, it should work. And it does. Especially because no one really knows what the motion in between looks like. We only see fragments of time, which reveal only part of the movement. đŸ€– So what does AI do? The same as I do: it guesses. But I make my choices with experience and a sense for aesthetics. I generated countless variations with Kling-AI 2.1 and Midjourney, and the results were surprisingly different. Roughly speaking: Kling was stronger for larger transformations, while Midjourney excelled at finer details. 📱 By the way, the sound design was created entirely by hand – the good old-school way. That works best for sounds that don’t actually exist. Everything’s getting more expensive – even trash.💰 The idea for this music video started as a personal challenge: Buy only fresh, healthy food, cook delicious meals – and spend less than the price of a Döner. đŸ„•đŸ„‘đŸ„Š đŸ€‘ I had never tracked my supermarket expenses before, and I was shocked. I never expected eating healthy to be that affordable. On the flip side, I was blown away by how much money I waste on fast food. Totally crazy. That’s when the spark hit me: why not make a little badass music video for @aldisuedde @aldinord , one of my favorite supermarkets in Germany? This isn’t a paid job. It’s just a passion project I wanted to bring to life. And yes – with a lot of help from AI. đŸŽ” Song production: Lyrics with Grok (5 mins), track with @producerai_ (10 mins). 📝 Shotlist: oldschool, by myself. đŸ’„ Visuals: generated with VEO3 & @higgsfield.ai đŸ”€ Font animations: designed with @chatgpt , animated in VEO3. What would’ve taken 10h in After Effects was suddenly 10x faster. Great! ⏳ The hardest part? Patience. Video generations can be frustrating as hell – especially with a filmmaker’s mindset where you always want perfect lighting, perfect acting, perfect set design. AI makes it possible, but it takes time (and nerves). ⏱ In the end, the whole project took me 12 full workdays. Sure, you could just throw random prompts into your edit software and have a video ready in a day. But if you actually want to tell a story (or make a trap music video for a supermarket), it takes much longer. ❗ Just to be clear: this film wasn’t commissioned by ALDI. It’s 100% my own free project. My first AI-generated commercial for @rains ☔ A personal project I did for training purposes — to explore where AI excels and where it still struggles. The last shot, for example, was a nightmare to prompt. I generated around 300 video variations, and the logo still didn’t show up. 😅 But the way the rain jacket walks? Surprisingly smooth. Calm, confident, model-like. The real challenge with AI: trying to make something behave human. Like letting a jacket walk like a person — suddenly you get weird limbs, hands, faces
