“Free and Fair?” 2025 _______________________________ “Nimekuletea mali vile tuliongea. Alafu cheki, ni ndechu.” Bazu alisema akicheki chargie mless. Morio amenice aje akipeana mkono Bazu amuwai io mali. Bazu anamfunga pingu ya ndechu, morio anaona tu rada safi. “Bora yangu uniwai pale kwa ballot!” Bazu anakaza macho akisema. Morio anadai haina noma. ______________________ “I have brought you something, just as I had promised. Look it is gold!” The man in power said with a grim smirk on his face. The uneducated man smiles as he gives his hand to the man in power. He wraps his hand in gold shackles and looks into the eyes of the young man, blinded by momentary greed. “ I will let you wear this, as long as you give me your power.” He says with a serious face. “No problem” ,the man says. _______________________ The cuffs are golden, but you are still in bondage. Open your eyes. Is it really free and fair? An artwork I developed while at the DAL(Digital Action Lab) workshop hosted by @pawa254 and @blackrhinovr The piece has a layer of Augmented Reality that I will share soon. I did this mural for AfriFOODlinks project in Kisumu, the piece addressed the vision of a future with sustainable food systems. Through the AfriFOODlinks project, the city aims to tackle some of its food system challenges, including access to healthy and affordable food, urban agriculture and land use, market management, and malnutrition. #afriFOOFlinks #forfood

The process for Afrifood links mural in Kisumu. This piece was adressing the food systems in the county and was a point of dialogue on the changes that need to be made for the system to be more efficient.
