There’s exactly 3 years between these photos and so much has changed but both days felt the same. I had just cut my hair after keeping it for a while. I spontaneously called @danext_ (Ibukun) to help me shoot stuff. I was unsure of what was to come but i knew there was something on the horizon.
I was right in the middle of NYSC when the last slide was taken. I was done wondering whether legal practice was my thing and I had decided to explore creating before the allowance training wheels fell off.
If there’s anything I’ve learnt, it’s that to TRUST is to ACT. Do it feeling stupid, do it even though you feel you’ll fail, do it even when others don’t get it, do it because the force holding you together is stronger than the one trying to pull you apart.

I sat down with @_kingie_ to discuss grief, mental wellbeing and specifically how to handle life when you get a lot throw at you at the same time. Life is “lifing” as we all say…but you don’t have to “life” with it. Watch the full video on @_kingie_ and @conscientiahealth YouTube page.
I promise it’s a great watch because I have NEVER been this publicly open about my personal journey, so although bah steps, I hope it helps someone. ❤️
Love,

Dr. Sim and I talked about the idea of the strong friend, the one who checks in on everyone, shows up for everyone, and supports everyone, yet is often the last person to ask for help and the worst at receiving it.
The truth is, the strong friend needs help just as much as anyone else. Sometimes, it becomes our responsibility to make sure that friend feels safe enough to open up.
That may require doing what feels unusual. It may mean looking beyond the role they have carried for so long and recognizing that even the person everyone leans on can be struggling too. Sometimes it means asking more than just, “How are you?” Sometimes it means asking specific questions, showing real care, and making it clear that they can rely on you too.
It may take time, but it is always worth it.
Full video is up on YouTube. You can watch it at the link in my bio.

Thank you @drsim7 for believing in me and choosing to have this conversation.
This one is for the books — the kind we don’t always know how to have… until we need them.
This one sits in that space.
It’s about grief, about friendship, about what it means to be the “strong one” for so long… and what happens when you finally learn to let people show up for you.
We talk about loss, mental health, and the quiet ways people carry things you may never see.
And maybe, in listening, you find language for something you’ve been holding too.
Full conversation drops by 5PM WAT / 6PM CET.

Don’t kill your ‘weird’ to be accepted, because society will definitely try to shrink you. We spent years trying to be more acceptable, however we learned to accept that difference was the whole point after all. - Let’s Talk About Beautiful Things.

Kindness isn’t something you turn on when it’s convenient, it’s who you choose to be, even when it’s hardest. Ali baba spoke up for Bobrisky even if it might have been against his principles — We Talk About Beautiful Things.
