Some of my favourite golf courses in Scotland. West Kilbride:
Set along Scotland’s rugged west coast, West Kilbride is a pure links examination in every sense. The course offers a compelling variety of holes, each shaped by the natural terrain, while sweeping views across to Arran provide a constant, stirring backdrop. Dumbarnie Links:
At Dumbarnie, each hole feels like a world of its own—framed expansively, yet never overwhelming. The fairways are presented in immaculate condition, running firm and true, while the greens are as pure as any in the country. It’s a layout that manages to be both enjoyable and equitable, complemented by a first-class arrival experience and clubhouse. Dundonald Links:
Another standout of Scotland’s west coast, Dundonald is a modern links that delivers a formidable test, particularly from the championship tees where length becomes a defining factor. Its strategic demands are matched by its conditioning, and with several outstanding courses nearby, it forms part of an essential golfing journey. Blairgowrie:
Blairgowrie presents a classic inland challenge—tree-lined, exacting, and at times quietly unforgiving. Precision from the tee is paramount, and while it can frustrate, there’s a deep satisfaction to playing it well. It’s a course that rewards discipline and showcases the enduring appeal of parkland golf at its finest. Have you played any of these?
