“Jun Chen is a senior fashion design student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Born in China and raised in the United States, they use fabric manipulation to explore emotion and transformation. Their collection, Held In Gray, explores the paradox of protection and pressure.
“Dense wool conveys warmth and solitude, while lace offers transparency and fragility. Organza and tulle add volume without weight, layering the body in forms that veil without fully concealing. Rendered in gray and silver, each garment embodies suspension, safe yet restrained, quietly yearning for release and transformation.”
