I started 2026 with the decision that no matter how good a plan may sound in my head, I‘ll follow that voice in my heart. That voice that goes deeper than just a feeling, more like a gentle pull. I feel like following that is the only thing that actually makes sense. It‘s been a year since I left Germany to follow wherever life may take me. And it has taken me places, both spiritually and physically, that I had not expected and I‘m so grateful for the whole journey and process. So here‘s recap part 1. It definitely hasn’t always been easy or comfortable. But now looking back, some of the hardest situations became one of my most cherished memories. It‘s when the pressure builds and you realize that you could keep fighting against what is and hold on to your old ways - or you look for what this moment can teach you and let life (God?) transform you. It‘s been the people, the unexpected moments and just the whole process, that‘s making this whole journey so special.

Water🌊 It can be so soft and calm, soothing, flowing peacefully. Adapting effortlessly to every shape, every turn and every movement. But when it‘s falling down a massive waterfall like this one, it reminds me of how strong, powerful and even destructive something so soft can be. It triggers something in me. Reminds me of a raw, wild, natural, sometimes forgotten part of me. And so while standing there, admiring the beauty and inspiring power of nature, I‘m left in awe. I value and learn from diverse perspectives, ways of living, and approaches to making sense of the world. I oppose the arrogant and ignorant eurocentristic worldview that perpetuates colonial narratives. There‘s so much knowledge and wisdom outside of that. Camped at the beach for two nights some time ago. Just me and my hammock, some crabs, monkeys and Iguanas. Even if I knew that most probably I‘ll be fine and nothing is gonna happen, I also realized that I was in a pretty vulnerable situation. Alone as a woman, soon sleeping, somewhere where no one could hear me. I was super scared at first once it got dark. So I decided to surrender to the fear and the possibility of dying (which we face every moment, cause you never know when your life in this form will end). From then on, I felt way more at peace.

I mean my plan was to have no plan, but it definitely didn’t go as planned lol. And I‘m grateful for where it took me. Some of the best experiences resulted from plans not working out as expected. So who am I to judge what way would have been the best? It feels almost arrogant to believe that the way I imagined things to turn out actually would have been the best. Because how do you wanna know? You never know where that would have taken you. So why not just trust in life and letting life and intuition guide you? Even - or especially? - if you don’t know where it will lead you. #life #trust #intuition

Costa Rica - or how I also like to call it: Costa Cara😄 I appreciate the beauty of nature. But I experience that it‘s much more about connection with myself, with others and with nature that create the most fulfilling moments. If you’re not connected, not feeling it, the most beautiful places might please your eye, but not your soul.

Thankful for how engaging in black dance cultures and learning about their origins makes me more aware of the struggles created by white supremacy and oppression of marginalized and racialized people and the necessity of change. No matter what skin I‘m in or what forms of discrimination and injustices I‘m directly or indirectly affected by. I‘m responsible just as every human being to co-create the world I want to live in.
