Le Chant du Coq began shortly after I moved to Paris. At first, the city felt like a kind of gay paradise, like a child in a candy store. Everything seemed possible, people showing their faces on the apps, going on dates, falling in love. Slowly, I started to see beyond that first impression, and as always, I turned to taking pictures, not to explain anything, just following instinct, like a dream you reread two years later and suddenly understand. The book unfolds through three mediums, photographs that imagine the anticipation of love, poems that unfold during it, and coffee ground paintings that embody its dissolution. The paintings come from tasseomancy, which my grandmother practiced. When I was younger I would ask her if he was going to love me, and she read my cup. Book available for pre-order, link in bio. Format A5, 80 pages. Printed in France, in Pau, August 2025 by Martin Impressions💘 Thank you to Victoire Chevaillier - @victoire_chvl for the help with the beautiful studio photographs 🫂

It’s aaaalive! My first book is here!! 🐓✨🤍 I’ve put all my heart into it (and more, haha), Le Chant du Coq, a project that started back in 2021 during my exchange year at @ecoleartsdecoparis . It continued as my first solo exhibition at Laboratoire d’Exposition in Paris, where I finally understood the form the project was asking me to follow.
It’s a book of photographs, paintings, and poems in Romanian, English, and French. The title Le Chant du Coq comes from the idea of the mermaid’s song, that call that draws you in, even if it leads to your destruction, I’m drawing a parallel to love. Take it with you, share it with a friend or maybe a lover, and rip it apart (the pages are perforated, each picture has a poem behind, so when ripped apart, it looks like a postcard). Hope you’ll enjoy reading it as much as i enjoyed making it!! The book is now out for preorder (link in bio), and can be seen on display at @1909.bookstore and @les_motsalabouche 💘

The launch will take place here in Paris at 1909.bookstore, come say bonjour if you can. It would be a pleasure to celebrate together, more details about it soon. Thank you to all my friends who generously read, reread, proofread, and gave feedback along the way. And most of all, thank you to Arthur Epineau for his kindness and creativity, for spending the whole summer helping me bring this project to life.
