Clergyman
In his quest for answers and justice, he ascended to the heights of clericalism. Though not innately a religious being, he immersed himself in sacred texts in an attempt to find peace and reconcile with the circumstances surrounding his father’s death. The wounds run too deep to be buried by spiritual belief alone. No ritual or placebo effect could offer him true healing.
Ofentse is adorned in an A-line, floor-length prayer skirt featuring side slits and a center-back godet train. The ensemble is paired with a loose-fitting handkerchief peplum top, structured with padded shoulders and secured at the waist by a wrap tie belt, enhanced by a mullet Peter Pan collar and cape sleeves. The look is completed with a veiled tubular hat.

“I am a Shaman”
Shamans, recognised for their perceived ability to traverse the physical and spiritual realms and act as
intermediaries between the living and ancestral spirits, occupy positions of high esteem in many African communities.
Within this collection, Kopano Malesela embodies the figure of a young boy who embraces
shamanism as a pathway to truth and healing following the death of his father. He holds the belief that his
initiation into shamanic practices may uncover truths for his now-widowed mother, offering a potential route
toward reconciliation with their shared loss. The shamanic regalia presented here comprises two principal
garments:
a white shirt-collar cape adorned with beaded tassels and embroidered tailoring padding stitches along the
collar, and an above-the-knee buckle skirt, similarly trimmed with beaded tassels at the waist and featuring
oversized curtain grommets along the slit.

Hailing from rural origins, she draws on deep-rooted cultural practices of musical healing, using song as a vehicle to advocate for justice. She wears a three piece ensemble: a curtain turned into floor-length wrap skirt with a high thigh slit and cascading organza godet train paired with a deep red leather corset featuring asymmetrical boning caged in grosgrain tape, completed with a velour traditional widows cape.

This look serves as a reminder that morality is neither foreign nor novel, but a vital and increasingly neglected necessity for our society. Jabulani Bokako embodies Maat in a floor-length bubble gown, complemented by a check padded layered cape with a “hidden face” and a tall-necked shirt collar.

“You cannot compare 342 to 31 years” is a deep slogan embodied by our activist muse. With this look our house pays homage to those who choose to not be silent during difficult times by using fashion as a word.
This three piece ensemble featuring a fitted base stretch lace turtleneck with long sleeves adorned with ruffles on the elbows and cuffs and a printed sleeveless over top. The bottom is a floor-length sheer bell-bottom trousers with a back godet train in striped lace.

Body bag: what happened to eye witnesses?
We critically evaluate the cost of bearing evidence as an eye witness. Choosing between the truth and a body bag was a predicament endured by activists and some security forces during the old regime.
Ntokozo wears a narrow-waisted bell bottom trousers paired with a red and black sleeveless restraining coat with Center front zip closure secured with a grosgrain tape. The look is styled by a branded body tag.

“Look at him, he is institutionalised!”
This look observes a voluntary compliance that often stems from deep-seated fear of the repercussions of rebellion, interpreted as a survival instinct in this project. Andile poses as an institutionalised mind, therefore referred to as a sellout.
This two piece ensemble features a semi-circle flared trousers and a wrap blouse with voluminous sleeves and a wavy cropped back. Styled in a long slouchy scarf beanie by @m.upcycles and a hand beaded tassel brooch.

Psycho Disturbia
This look considers ways in which trauma may lead to such a state of mental disturbance.
