Sometime in mid-January, the Christian body of Youth Corps members went on an evangelistic mission outreach to a village named Ilabo. Indeed, it was truly rural, and this made me see Acts 1:8 come to life.

WORSHIP AS DECLARATION
Most people think worship starts with a feeling. It doesn't. It starts with an intentional choice.
Declaring God's goodness when you feel nothing is not hypocrisy. It's faith. The Psalms are full of writers who opened their mouths before their hearts caught up to that reality. David said "my soul, BLESS the Lord". He was commanding his own soul to worship even before it wanted to.
Worship is telling the truth about God regardless of your current emotional state.
3 practical things to do to help you worship better
1. Pick a worship song and read the lyrics of that worship song before you sing it. This way, the lyrics become life to you.
2. Write down one thing about God that has nothing to do with how you currently feel. This helps you look beyond your emotions and look deeper.
