Cabin fever hitting hard? 12 hikes that got me hooked on the lakes. I’ve used a few navigating apps like OS, Komoot and Alltrails all come with their pros and cons.. OS is the most accurate for sure
I would go back to these fells and the hikes for them in a heartbeat and some of them I’ve already returned too. Priceless memories and experiences il never forget ❤️
📍 The Lake District, Cumbria
Y Garn number 238. Swipe left for some David Attenborough content 🐑🐴
A very beautiful hike, Rhinogs is one of my favourite places to hike along with Glyderau. This one was incredibly underrated. A really lovely nuttall this one. Another one done for @ner1477 🏴
📍 Y Garn, Rhinogydd, Eryri
Rest of the spam from yesterday in the Aran’s, the seven nuttalls were
📍 Waun Carnndwr
📍 Gwaun y Llwyni
📍 Aran Fawddwy
📍 Erw Y Ddafaf - Ddu
📍 Aran Benllyn
📍 Gwaun Llydan
📍 Pen yr Allt Uchaf
Bit of a running joke between me and Aran Fawddwy that got put to rest yesterday finally and what a day with 7 summits
I joined @ner1477 on her nuttall journey in the Arans, it was my chance also for redemption
Short story, 2 years ago this week me and my mate expected glorious scenes as Met office said bright beautiful day in store.. met office was not correct and to add insult @summit_about_martin gets bit by a random dog at the summit 😂
I really like this peak, it’s real quiet and isolated compared to its neighbour over near Barmouth. Definitely no tourist paths here it’s a trek in the Aran’s but has to be my favourite area along with the Glyderau
📍 Aran Fawddwy, Eryri
Getting the urge to get up this again 🥹, I’ve only done Helvellyn twice and that’s not because I don’t like it, I think the mountain is one of the best England has
Its just always rammed with people 😂
June 2024
📍 Helvellyn, The Lake District
I loved this route, i normally head straight for Crib Goch when doing Yr Wyddfa because it’s my favourite and gives me everything I want
Nerys recommended the quieter Rhyd Ddu path and it was superb, minimal people until near the summit, cracking views from start to finish and nice non technical ridge near the end to navigate over
What a beauty of a path
📍 Rhyd Ddu, Yr Wyddfa, Eryri
Speaking from personal experience here. I would run away to The Lakes or Wales anytime I was struggling with life in general, overthinking can put you down a rabbit hole that you can’t get back out of easily
I thought those few days away on a mountain would sort me out and make everything better, all it did was cause me to dread going back home even more to face my problems that I finally couldn’t get away from
Issues that I had to face and sort out myself rather than just running away any time life got too loud in my head
Things are certainly much better now and don’t feel the need to high tail it up the M6, do I still have moments? Of course I fucking do they hit me out of nowhere. I’ve just learned to deal with the cause there and then but it’s still hard sometimes and I’ve still got work to do in regards to that
Im no mental health advocate nor do I wish to be either, I do hope just one person can resonate with this and know that you can turn this around 🙏🏼
I go out now more than often to enjoy the mountains and hills. Not to use it as an escape
The outdoors won’t save you but it will show you the harsh truth to save yourself
Love/hate relationship with the Carneddau and yesterday it tore me a new one yet again, From Yr Elen to Gyrn Wigau we took down 8 summits 4 of them which I had done previously
The area is completely different to Glyderau and the Snowdon massif, but there’s no solitude like it and that’s what makes it beautiful, the walk in from Bethesda was never ending but the scenery is amazing, even got chased by the dog at infamous farm 🙃
Yr Elen
Carnedd Llewelyn
Foel Grach
Carnedd Gwenllian
Bera Mawr
Bera Bach
Y Drosgl
Gyrn Wigau
Gotta remind myself I do this for fun 😮💨
