I’m lucky enough to say that my only ever experience of domestic abuse has been filming this video. It was intense and uncomfortable to say the least but at the end of the day I walked away and went back to my safe, secure little bubble.
That was the end of my experience.
This can’t be said for the countless Women, Children and Men that experience this (right now) and perceive this as their ‘normal’.

14 years and 10 months to be precise was the day my best friend and soul mate entered the world. Little did I know that over those years I would have the best companion anyone could ask for. So It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that after a very sudden aggressive illness. Finly passed away in my arms on 04/06/2020.
The loss I feel has hit me incredibly hard. The constant of him being by my side, at the end of my bed, by my feet, his little steps behind mine - everything has just stopped now and the adjustment to this has proved harder than I could have imagined.
Finly affected so many people in his own little way. He had such a great nature and he didn’t have a bad bone in his little body. In the most simplest form - I got him and he got me. We came as a pair.
He made me very proud to have him as part of my family. I am ultimately grateful for his companionship over the years, not only at home but at work too on the farm. Keeping me company everyday and showing up when I needed him most.
Above everything, I know that for me the world was a better place with him in it and by my side.
To the bestest friend ever, that without doubt showed a love beyond anything I have ever known. Finly you were the best of journey companions. Our souls intertwined forever.
Thank you Fin for choosing me.
You will never be forgotten. I love you beyond words. I would do anything to have you here again.
For now run with the pack, give everyone my love and wait for me. I will see you when I get there.

Sometimes you don’t even need to know someone to receive the purest of emotion. A person may come into your life randomly for even just five minutes and change you. It is this kindness that is wonderful, because someone has opened up their soul for you to take a small glimpse that can leave a lasting impression.
