‘DÉJÀVU’ is a song about heartbreak and one’s struggle with buying into shallow appearances, falling into the same trap over and over again – just like that feeling of déjà vu. DSML brings Son Of A Policeman’s signature catchy and anthemic choruses and funky bass and guitar into play in this vibrant and bouncy track, laying bright strings and synths over the song’s strong nu disco rhythms.
Gabba’s debut single ‘Puzzle’ airs later at 5PM today!
Gabba is the solo project of Manila-based musician Gabba Santiago, best known for his work on instrumental rock act Degs and Gabba (formerly of critically acclaimed act Tom’s Story) and indie rock band Fools and Foes. He has also done session work for other Filipino musicians such as Clara Benin, Reese Lansangan, and Rico Blanco. Transitioning from a band set-up and scaled dynamics to a solitary project, Gabba adopted his mononym to approach and steer a new direction for his artistic vision, one that allows him to explore all elements of music-making without restriction and with a newfound appreciation.
’Puzzle’ is the first single taken from his forthcoming debut record scheduled for a 2021 release.
