IVY - HUSH
Ōtepoti alt-rockers IVY are fast becoming a force in Dunedin’s scene (and one’s to seriously watch) — blending dark, atmospheric textures with layered choruses, shifting rhythms, and emotionally charged lyricism.
Their debut album HUSH is a heavy, art-rock journey from youth to adulthood: raw guitar tension, ambient melancholy, and moments of violin-lined introspection. Themes of death, alienation, love, and spiritual reckoning run throughout — a deeply personal dive where sorrow and hope sit side-by-side.

With our debut album coming out at midnight tonight, we wanted to share some old gold pics!
It’s taken us a little over 3 years of writing, recording, mixing and gigging to get all these songs to where they are now. Genuinely can’t wait for these tunes to be out in the world.
To everyone who has come to a gig, bought a shirt, left a comment, liked a post or even gotten an IVY tattoo (we see you) thank you! We couldn’t have achieved any of this without such amazing support. You’re all real ones
Much love
IVY
Thank you for coming out last weekend, we had a great time. Unfortunately life has gotten in the way and Pearly* can no longer make it to Queenstown this weekend. IVY however, shall soldier on, with support from @dmdclb and @jesse_vanhan
Cheers, and see you next time!
Pearly* + IVY 💕
LIVE TO AIR: Ōtepoti art rock 5-piece @_ivynz will be heard loud & clear from Te Korokoro o te Tūī live on air at 4:30PM today! Broadcasting on 91.0FM and via our online website stream 🔗
The alternative outfit killed it last year, having released their debut full-length album ‘HUSH’ that blends atmospheric textures with dark instrumentation and emotionally charged lyricism. Performing tracks from it, this Live From Te Korokoro session is both raw and melancholic at once —
You’ll be able to catch the video version 📹 on the @tekorokorootetui YouTube Channel after the Live To Air is broadcast!
At the start of 2024 IVY asked Pearly* to join them on a trip to Central Otago, the gigs were poorly attended but exceedingly fun. Both bands had really just started, now just over two years on Pearly* and IVY have both released Debut albums, and toured the country multiple times. This May the two Ōtepoti bands are going back on the road, in celebration of community that is at the core of Dunedin’s great music scene.
@emilyesplinmusicyeah will be supporting in both Ōtepoti and Ōtautahi for their first out of town shows.
@dmdclb will also be debuting out of Dunedin joining the Queenstown line up.
Local hero’s @deaf.racoonband will be supporting in Ōtepoti and @_minerva__band will be supporting in Lyttelton.
As part a thank you to Dunedin and also to accomodate the needs of the regulars the @pearldiverdunedin show will be Koha!
