In the shadows of yesterday,
Where dreams and memories play,
I walk the streets, lost in the haze,
Chasing echoes of brighter days.
You can’t hold the night,
You can’t catch the stars,
Try to grasp the light,
But it slips through your arms.
Fading like whispers,
In the corners of time,
You realize too late,
What was yours and what’s mine.
Every tear that we cried,
Fell like rain on the ground,
Each moment we shared,
Is a lost, haunting sound.
You can’t hold the night,

Try to grasp the light,
But it slips through your arms.

What was yours and what’s mine.
So I’ll carry your ghost,
In the songs that I sing,
A bittersweet melody,
Of the love that we bring.
In the shadows of yesterday,
I’ll keep your memory near,
Though the stars may all fade,
Your light will stay clear.
