Back in the studio after some time away from making work.
These aren’t new works but made right before the end of my time at the RCA. I haven’t decided whether they’re finished or WIP yet.
Each is intended as a form of poetic rhyme scheme, just without words or letters.
Blind-emboss & chine collé. 25cm x 19cm.
Last slide features new studio pal.
Harry’s work comes together through scrappy & playful processes of iterative decision- making. Compositions and collages are made with a focus on materiality and rhythm in an attempt to keep hold of and share small moments of intimacy in memories.
The work you’re seeing here is a concertina-book, titled ‘Ball’ (18cm x 14cm x 164cm). Photographs of dogs and blurry cycle rides are screen printed on top of and alongside etchings, scribbles, text and scraps of printed matter. Bits of paper confectionary bags & plastic bags from the off-licence are collaged alongside imagery of bird murmurations and abstract mark-making. Its imagery lies in and around the grooves of blind-embossings, which run vertically throughout the book. The title, ’Ball’, pays homage to a track by pianist, Duval Timothy.
Two small pieces of writing, which were made were using letterpress and screen print, accompany the book.
Afternoon in Naples
Explorations into drypoint & carborundum printing made in the last year or so. All prints are responses to a 35mm photograph capturing a moment in Naples last May.
Fourth slide is a collage using scraps of some messy (& kinda ugly), non-figurative carborundum prints which you can see on the following slide.
The collection of responses here feels like propagating a blurred memory via very tangible working processes. One way to fend off impending nostalgia.
Dog Sweats
Halftone screen prints from a crop of a 35mm photograph taken in Greece a while ago, on a couple sweatshirts. Found the roll in my desk drawer last year. Some sketchbook scans included.
Both size M. Grey still available.
KK23ARC Folders
I screenprinted on these folders for @kaamkaaj.work .
All folders included some offcuts and misprints as a little gift.
Already posted on my story a couple times but oh well have it again.

Pharoah Sanders Final Performance
First of a series of work I’m looking to create revolving around music consumption. The reference image for this was taken from a video on YouTube of the saxophonist’s final performance at We Out Here Festival before he passed away last year.
Due to the laborious process involved in applying ink to the carborundum plate it’s a one-off print at the mo. Made over at @eastlondonprintmakers
Oil ink, gel mediums & carborundum on Fabriano paper.
22cm x 28cm
Floor Drawings
Series of 4 screenprints in which I’ve collaged drawings made from shadows in Epping Forest and a random(?) dribble of paint found on a pavement in Hackney.
A3. Quite strange.
