Every sacrifice. Every sleepless night. Every draft, rewrite, and ounce of determination led to this moment of excellence.
The title of PhD isn’t given, it is EARNED, through discipline and resilience, but we don’t have to tell you that!
Congratulations to our newly hooded Doctors from the Department of Education and the Department of Counseling! 💙⚓️🎓

Some journeys to the stage carry more than a degree.
Just one day after his senior prom, Kyle Savage ’26 lost both of his parents in a tragic car accident. Overnight, grief and responsibility reshaped his world, but even through unimaginable loss, he made the choice to keep going.
“My advice to anyone trying to accomplish something while going through difficult times is to find positivity around you and keep looking for reasons to live. That’s what helped me.”
Every step toward that commencement stage has honored the love that raised him, the brother who needed him, and the strength it took to keep moving forward.
At Hampton University, Kyle found more than an education, he found his way home. 💙⚓️🎓

There’s something really special about being able to look back and realize that something you created became a part of people’s college experience.
When I started The Content Collective during the end of my sophomore year, I honestly just wanted to create a space that highlighted the people, stories, and culture that make @_hamptonu what it is. I don’t think I realized at the time how many memories would be attached to it later.
Over the years, this platform became more than just posting content. It became a way to celebrate people while they’re still here experiencing these moments in real time. A way to make people feel seen, appreciated, and remembered. And hearing so many people tell me recently that they feel like The Content Collective captured a piece of their Hampton experience means more to me than I can explain.
This journey also changed the way I see people. College can make it easy to only know people by their titles, organizations, or what you see online, but everybody has layers to them beyond that. Everybody has a story. I think that’s why storytelling became so important to me.
Now that i’ve graduated, I think the biggest thing I’ll take with me is knowing that I created something with real passion and purpose behind it. Something that brought people together, documented memories, and reflected the culture that lives on this campus every single day.
To everyone who supported this vision, trusted us with your stories, collaborated with us, or simply showed love over the years, thank you. And to the future of The Content Collective: keep evolving, keep creating, keep having fun, and continue building something that people can see themselves in.
I’m excited to watch this continue to grow beyond me. 💜
