2025 took me far beyond what I could’ve planned. Through the @skyrunning , I had the privilege of travelling across the world and documenting some of the most technical, spectacular mountain races out there, the kind of terrain that demands everything, from athletes and from storytellers. Beyond the circuit, I also had the chance to work with incredible people, brands, and races at the very highest level, different formats, different countries, same obsession: mountains, movement, and light. This recap is a selection of my favourite trail photos from 2025. But what I value most isn’t the photographs, it’s what comes back to me when I see them. Every frame holds a story. Asakusa moves fast, but somehow still feels timeless. Its story goes back many centuries, when two fishermen found a small statue in the river. They say they threw it back, but it kept returning to them, as if it wanted to stay. So a temple was built there. And little by little, a whole world grew around it. Tokyo, the city of cities. It feels like an amusement park where anyone can find their place. Huge, intense, full of contrasts, but also full of quiet corners where you can slow down and feel at home for a moment. Tokyo is not only Shibuya Crossing or its busy streets in Shinjuku. Second times can be good. Very good. 365 days later, we came back to Ueda for a new edition of the @ueda.skyrunning , the 7th race of the @skyrunning I don’t have much more to say than thank you, to @dai.skyrunner , Takashi, @kotaro.ozaki , and especially @fujimakisho , for all the support and kindness we received. Ueda has something special. After walking through huge and beautiful cities like Osaka and Tokyo, Ueda gave me a very different feeling, quieter, softer, but somehow much deeper. Maybe it’s the way people live here. Their calm, their kindness, their smiles. The shrines, the green mountains, the small corners that stay with you without really knowing why.
