After years of touring, shaking the rafters of venues in disaster-affected communities around the country, ‘Up Armidale Road’ has made it’s stadium debut in front of 21,000 NRL fans at Allianz Stadium for the Sydney Roosters’ 2025 Emergency Services Match. To have been asked to celebrate our first responders in this way is an honour that both Hughie and I will cherish for the rest of our careers.
Thank you to the Sydney Roosters, NSWRFS and NSWRFSA for having us, and for not batting an eyelid when we said we wanted our travelling piano out on the field with us 😂
Up Armidale Road, you will find the extraordinary community of Nymboida, about whom the song is written. We’d like to shout out Ian Casey, Annie Wolf and Al Mulligan, Paul Johnston, the Towns family, Eva Staehelin, Sophie and Emmanuel Ramos, The Sage family and the Clarence Valley Conservatorium whose stirring voices and instrumentation you can hear as part of the performance. Thank you, and all those involved in this project. It was been a joy to see this song and story truly resonate everywhere it goes❤️🔥💪 #graceandhugh #pianopushers #uparmidaleroad #rfs #bushfires #disasterrecovery #northernriversnsw
The reason you never get videos of me singing into an iPhone camera is bc I HATE IT 😂 Sorry the production values are at negative zero… it’s the only way I can trick myself into actually enjoying the song, which is a ripper. Also wdym the YouTube backing track doesn’t follow my lead? @hughscottmurray where were ya? @graceandhugh acoustic tour loading 👀 in the meantime…another lil farmsit 😌
Link to the full performance in the bio folks! If you haven’t learned the girls’ “bus” dance move yet then what the hell are you doing with your Friday?? If you must wait for a couple of Friday drinks in order to do so… then that is a little sad for you but still very acceptable 💅😎 🚌
IT’S HERE!!! Watch the full live performance of “Big Ol’ Bus” neowww➡️ link in bio fam!!!
“All you need is a pretty little song…and a place to play it, all night long.” Words to live by! We are immensely proud of this vid and grateful to all involved in bringing Hughie’s road-honed song to vibrant life! Go check it out if you’re looking for a damn good time, and share share share! We need your help to keep this beautiful band on the road, where it belongs ❤️
