Still glowing from such a magical night at the College Television Awards. Thank you @televisionacademyfoundation for creating a space that uplifts emerging voices and celebrates the power of storytelling.
Receiving the Loreen Arbus Focus on Disability Award was incredibly meaningful to me. This honor is a reminder that stories about disability deserve the spotlight — in all their complexity, tenderness, and truth. I’m so proud to be part of a community pushing those stories forward.
To all the friends and fam who turned up and turned my heart to mush — thank you for filling the night with so much warmth and joy. I’ll be holding it close for a long time ❤️
✨ Humbled to share that “Lola” has been awarded the Loreen Arbus Focus on Disability Scholarship by the Television Academy!
This story is deeply personal to me. It’s a glimpse into the world of a little girl navigating the changes in her relationship with her grandmother as Alzheimer’s begins to take hold. It’s a film about love, memory, and the ties that bind generations together. Most importantly, it’s a film about my Lola.
Alzheimer’s disease, in all its forms, touches millions of families, but the subject is often shrouded in silence. With “Lola,” I wanted to offer a space for empathy and understanding, and to also shine a light on the fun, wild, and beautiful moments we can still have with the people we love.
Thank you to @televisionacad@televisionacademyfoundation and Loreen Arbus for recognizing and supporting this story. Thank you as always to the cast and crew for all your hard work. And thank you to all the families, caregivers, and advocates working to bring hope and humanity to those impacted by Alzheimer’s. This one’s for you. 💜
