βBoat, Boat, Boat, Boat, Boatβ considers the experience of untethering reality, like when you repeat a word over and over until it loses its meaning. Almost out of a dream, it is the moment when the word βboatβ transforms into the guttural sound of the earth, freed from its meaning. The sliver of space between language and the abstracted, glossy world of the mind. The type of instance that makes one question if any of what we perceive is real at all.
P.S. Spot the Mark Rothko replicas in the background. Much easier to paint than the paint-by-number kittens.

When working on βThe Skeletons Are Singing Againβ for @mascot__studio , I discovered a lot on eBay of family photos. All original copies with thoughtful notes on the back. I became obsessed with this family, their quintessential American experience captured in these photos. Through the photos we see the kids grow up, many family vacations, holidays, and the owner of the collection comes to light; the grandmother who pens βmeβ on the backside of her own portrait. Lauren shared my obsession, and thus we created a book to commemorate this ordinary and spectacular family.
There are a few a copies left! Message me or @mascot__studio if you are interested in purchasing πͺ
