power > perfection. so much of my beautiful vulnerability in conversation, in songwriting, on stage has been sabotaged by my obsession with being physically embodied perfectly. I recently completed a rigorous training at a new esthetics job and I told the lead esthetician, “I just want my facials to be perfect.” she looked at me dead pan and said, “baby, perfection is boring.” perfection *is* boring. and here I am, finally loosening up in my late thirties, communing with God and standing in my power. let’s do it for all those who aren’t allowed to or never even got the chance. Introducing @_fielded_ to the EveryDejaVu roster. An artist I’ve followed for a bit from her collaborations, but I kept returning to her solo music for her powerful, world-moving voice and her chameleon-esque discography. ‘Chuckles Deluxe’ being one of my favorite albums of 2025, it’s an honor to work with her on her new music!
Fielded is the music project of Lindsay Powell, a Brooklyn-based singer and producer whose music has never sat in one place for long. Started in Chicago in 2010 as a noise project, Fielded began as a way for Powell to move on from earlier indie twee work and gradually took shape as something more singular and personal.
Across more than 20 releases, Fielded has built a catalog that follows instinct rather than genre, with a voice that’s always powerful, whether delivering emotional and explosive pop ballads or singing spells over hip-hop production. Along the way, Powell has collaborated with artists including billy woods, ELUCID, Pink Siifu, and others, while also spending years in experimental performance spaces, touring internationally through museum and gallery contexts including The Guggenheim Museum, Hamburger Bahnhof, Frieze, and Art Basel.
Her new work is in conversation with her noise beginnings and her 2013 album Ninety-Thirty-Thirty. Her lyricism continues to pull no punches and she describes the music as “nihilistic gospel” and “late 90s femme Lilith worship."

As I step into myself as a multifaceted artist, I want to acknowledge that my work as a musician informs my facials and body work and my work as a facialist and body worker informs my music. I am an energy worker in all realms and that is acknowledged by GAWD THEMSELF and I don’t need you to tell me I’m a Vibey Leo Alien Goddexx … I’ve been getting that download since birth.
I will be posting here about my work more often. I’m proud of how far I’ve come in esthetics, I’m proud of where I’ve landed and I’m lucky I’ve managed to find two passions in this life, one that actually allows me to pay my bills - the gratitude is deep.
Fielded is me, but it’s also the umbrella that covers all the different pre-existing nooks and crannies I’ve crept into and tried living in since the project’s birth. Now that I’ve actually built something of my own I’m going to celebrate that in one place!

rare footage of a song I wrote called “Let It Out” that’s about consent between the artist and the listener. I remember the moment I recorded the final take for the main vocal while I was living in a house in L.A. when I was 24. Crazy how time flies. You can hear the recorded version with harmonies on ‘Ninety Thirty Thirty’ from 2012.
