It was a great weekend-ish of rodeos!! Deedee and I started out in the mud at Mineral Wells and ended up pulling a check. Then we went to Clovis, NM where Deedee made sure everyone knew that sheโs a freak!! Weโre going to figure out that third barrel and sheโs going to be hard to beat!๐ช๐ผ We ended up 3rd at Clovis๐๐ผ Next stop was Helotes-itโs was a first time for me there and it was so much funโฆuntil we tripped and Deedee ended up kneeing herself in the nose (pic included)๐. Itโs runs like that where I am so grateful for @lameaway and @durasole_hoofcare - Deedee was able to recover and was completely sound after that run๐๐ผ Finally, we ran at one of my favorites, Rodeo Corpus, last night. After slack and what I would consider a stacked performance, Deedeeโs holding her own! Weโre headed home to gear up for a weekend of more rodeos where Gracie will give Deedee a day or two off and God willing, weโll see Corpus again on Saturday๐๐ค

I am so proud of this feisty girl!! We made a few small changes this week and I focused most of the week on being a better rider for her and it all paid off!! We are Rodeo Corpus Christi bound!๐๐ฌDeedee placed 8th in the qualifier to get us in and win a good check!๐๐ผThe past two years Ive spent a week down in Corpus for the WCRA event and that arena has been so good to me and my horses! I canโt wait to get back in there but this time for a rodeo running against the best our game has to offer! I donโt know who will get the call yet, but what I do know is I have an amazing team of mares that are ready to get the job done!๐ช๐ผ TYJ for your many blessings!! What a fun weekend! Gracie girl made a good run to get us back to the performances at San Angelo!! We run again on April 16th๐๐ผ Deedee also got to carry some weight this week and made a beautiful run even with a few bobbles at Waxahachie in a SUPERRRR tough slack! She also go to run at Nacogdoches but due to her rider not riding we caught a barrel to be fast there as well.
Iโm so blessed with these horses and we are so excited for whatโs to come! Just like in the last pic, we are just staying patient and trusting Jesus!๐๐ผ

We didnโt quite have the run we wanted with gravity not being on our side and that slow falling barrel but I am so proud of Gracie and thankful for how hard she tries every run!! No matter the set up or whatโs on the line I know she is ready for it and thereโs no way sheโs backing down. Forever grateful for this horse and all that sheโs done for me!๐ค

We are home bound from Denver and all I can say is I am so proud of my horse. Itโs been a long year figuring eachother out and weโre still working on it but to make the short round and win some money in a major rodeo makes me so excited for what the future holds for this great horse and myself. The finals didnโt quite go as planned but we put together 4 clean runs in a row (which we hadnโt done until now) and did it when thatโs all we had to do, which is one of the hardest things to do. Yesterday, I just kept telling DeeDee how proud of her I am and this is just the beginning-sheโs a champion in my eyes and weโre not done๐๐ผ

Dee Dee and I got the win in round 1 and 2nd in round 2 of our bracket in Denver- winning the average in our bracket and securing our spot in the semifinals on Saturday (1/24)๐๐ผ She told me in the 2nd round safetying up just to be clean is not her thing but we made it work, covered most of the arena and still clocked like the freak she is!!๐ถ๏ธ
