Blank page, ready to write a new story This look was inspired by fresh starts, new beginnings, new stories to write. Inspired from an old version of my drag, going towards a new direction, with new ideas, new ways to do and/or interpret things. For this occasion, this look was at 80% created with second hand materials/furnitures found at the last sewing sales of @petitsriens.be All pearls, ornements, threads, most fabrics were found at this amazing sale last weekend. Also a great way to show that you can be creative and bring new things on stage, without having to buy new. From now on, get ready to discover a new Espressa But with the same bob. Dimanche dernier, j’ai eu l’honneur de partager la scène des Restos Du Rire de @david.jeanmotte avec @grasse2bruxelles pour une bonne cause, mais pas n’importe laquelle. Permettre a 5000 personnes de ce nourrir grâce à l’aide des Restos du Coeur de la ville de Mons. Ensemble, @grasse2bruxelles et moi, ainsi que tout les autres artistes présents au @theatreroyaldemons , nous avons réalisé ce qui peut paraître être un « petit » geste, mais encore une fois, une petite action a parfois de grands effets . CADAVER PART 3/3 Cadaver is a project exploring the spectrum of death and skin threw burlesque. Mixing the worlds of special effect makeup, costume design and drag, CADAVER , was born … or maybe has died. 2 months of hard work where necessary to think, design and create this burlesque act, using the techniques of effeuillage (slowly stripping to reveal our raw and unapologetic body ). The costume is a blurry representation of rotten skin, slowly pulled of a corpse to reveal the flesh of that body. This act was created after a reflection on the backlash that burlesquers, drag performers, women, … have on showing a little skin. This performance acts as a response to that, just plainly assuming the body, from the skin to the flesh. Our bodies are our own, they only responds to our decisions and desires. If we want to take our clothes off, we do it. We could also just take off our skin if we would like it.
