My newest album, The Ballad of Sir Galeas the Lost is out today on Bandcamp! It is the tale of a hero who undergoes the challenges of coming home from war, heartbreak, being tempted by evil, and being expected to rise above all else to embody the principles of chivalry and inner goodness. I got a bit more experimental with this album compared to previous releases so I hope you all like it.
I need to give a callout to Vandalorum at @vandalmastering for his fantastic mixing and mastering of this album. There are also special features from @orpheus_resilience , @hecate.music.93 , and @spell_ward_dungeon who made the songs even better! My next release, a full-length album, will be unveiled on May 6th next week with a listening party the day before. Pre-order now to listen to one of the tracks and you shall get a taste of what this next album will sound like. I had a fun time exploring a new sound and theme for this release with a very detailed story about this Sir Galeas character. Can’t wait to share the whole thing next week! Oh, and also cassettes in June as well through Fantasy Audio Magazine.
The painting of the upcoming album cover is finally here and not too long before my actual birthday so it’s a great early birthday present! I know it arrived before the album is releasing but I am so happy to finally be able to hang this in my home and I want to thank @skullandsword_art for this gorgeous piece of art. It was a pleasure to work with him on bringing my vision to life.
This is a song I worked on a while ago for an postponed album split project but never did anything with it...until now. As part of the cassette release of my first two EPs coming soon, Tony at @fantasy_audio_magazine asked if I wanted to add in another song and figured this would be perfect. This is "The Mystical Jersava River", based off of a river in the country of Norrovia that is in my DnD world. It'll be on cassette but would folks want this on digital streaming outside of Bandcamp as a single as well? Let me know!
Decided it could be fun to hang up posters of every live in-person concert I’ll perform at! We’ll see how long it lasts before we have to move these elsewhere 🤣
In all seriousness, deeply honored I even get asked to perform live. Someone listening to my music in the background is one thing, a label/musician that thinks people will enjoy my stuff live is something else entirely. So these posters are a nice reminder to myself.
There is always that hint of imposter syndrome I feel when composing music. Never really had formal music training as a kid partly due to my hearing loss so whenever I improvise, it’s always between “wow, I don’t feel bounded by rules!” or “oh god, is this just random keyboard smashing”.
So people telling me they listen to my music and want to see me live is a true honor! I deeply appreciate the DS community and can’t wait to unveil the upcoming music projects I’m working on in the upcoming months.
