They mean so much to me and I know they will mean the world to you too. They are so excited to meet you all. Trust me, it’s all they talk about. We have been so excited for this moment, to be part of your lives. That’s what they exist for. You. Yes, YOU. Who deserves to be seen, heard, loved and uplifted. To feel less alone.
Ways Of Loving was intended when I wrote it to be my first short film debut but as I bought it to life through cinema, I knew that it’s my first full feature. Our beautiful characters have more to share.
I cried for days and wrote letters to them, trying so hard to part with them so they could find you, which they will, and I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t let them go, but now I do, they aren’t finished telling what they need to tell.
This isn’t just for me, this is for us. For every artist, child, adult, human, who was told no. Made to feel wrong. Made to feel other than who they are, who may still feel that way. For those, us, who have felt like our ways of loving is wrong because we don’t know any better. Our distortion of love has been poisoned without our awareness. And as painful it is and confusing it is, love is complex and we need to not feel hateful towards ourselves for only knowing a certain way to love.
