Some Facts: if 2% of my social media followers supported me on Patreon, at the lowest tier, it would solve almost all my short-term problems. 4% would change my life. It's funny. After my last post asking for support, someone reached out to my mother to make sure I was OK. I'm fine, of course, but it did make me realize that a lot of you out there may not know what this is or how it works. This is My Job. It is a Wonderful Job, and I wouldn't want any other. But it is also a very very Hard Job. I typically put in 50-60 hour weeks, when I'm not on the road. I do my own vehicle maintenance, repair my own instruments, design my own flyers/graphics, manage my finances, book shows, edit video, write copy, book shows, promote shows, record, edit, mix, master, manage an email list & socials, book shows, and so many other things. All this, ideally, while continuing to write songs and practice my instruments. But there's no paycheck. No infrastructure. I'm completely independent. Which means I have the privilege of working directly for everyone who ever has or ever will give a damn about my music. And Patreon is a key part of the structure that makes that possible. Patreon is a platform, owned and operated by artists, where supporters can pledge small (or not) monthly contributions to their favorite creators to help keep them in business. In exchange, those supporters get access to exclusive content from the artists they support. So no, I'm not in any peril. I'm not asking for donations. I'm asking for those who have the means, and appreciate my work, to consider supporting that work so it can continue. Because, while I may be in no immediate danger of losing my home or going hungry, the truth of it is that my situation is unstable, and not remotely sustainable in the long-term as things currently stand. And I would love to still be making music in the lon-term. It's all I know. LEXINGTON! It's my first full solo-set since New Year's! I'm playing a BUNCH of new songs I've been workin' on for ya. What's more, I'll have the pleasure of supporting one of the coolest acts in the region, Asheville's @okapi.band . Seriously, folks, this is one of the most interesting, talented bands I've ever worked with, and I am fkn jazzed to be sharing the stage with them again. As if that wasn't enough, the wildly creative @holdendbitner will be bringing his new solo project, fomo sapien, to kick things off. Over a week since getting home from the @cnsict spring tour, and I'm still getting my feet back under me. Might have something to do with having hit the ground running as soon as I got back, to run sound for @legalize_lex , but goddamn; there ain't another event anywhere I'd be so happy to work 26+ hours in 3 days right after getting off tour. Now it's back to polishing up songs and hammering out demos for the new solo EP, catching up on Patreon content (🔗 in bio), finalizing some mixes I'm stoked be be able to talk more about soon, and about 600 other things that need tending now that I'm off the road for a while. What a hell of a tour! And what a way to end it! It was great to be able to join forces with the @ivsonofiii @clownvis & @kingsickabilly tour to end both runs with one epic night at @appletonbeerfactory ! Sharing the stage every night with @thekoffinkats_official has been awesome. Those dudes are some of the hardest working road dogs out there, an damn good band, and pretty swell fellas to boot. Getting to add @therumoursband for these last few dates was icing on the cake. They put on a hell of a show! Go check em out if you get a chance. That's all for now, but keep your eyes open. Y'all. This first leg of @cnsict 's spring tour with @thekoffinkats_official has been downright surreal. Not only is it an incredible time of year to be adventuring in the Rockies, but every venue and every crowd has been unbelievably welcoming and kind. I am still so damn grateful to get to play in one of my favorite bands. Two years and hundreds of shows in, and i'm still pinching myself. One more week of shows through the Midwest, then it's back home to dive head first into the new solo record. I can't wait to show yall what I've been working on...

Hello, friends. I have a big, long, sappy post about all this that you can read in my newsletter or on FB, but IG has a character limit, so he's the short version: I'm officially in pre-production on A New Solo Album. I'm freaking stoked as heck about these new songs, and the process i'm going through to get them ready for your earholes. But here's the thing: I am an entierly independent, self-funded, full-time artist. In this economy? And taking the necessary time off of gigging to finish writing and recording this record, with all the creative and logistical gymnastics involved, puts me in an extremely precarious situation. There will be a pre-order eventually. But not until there's a guaranteed product in the pipeline. In the meantime, friends, I'm asking for your help to bridge the gap. If everyone who sees this post suppoted me on Patreon at the lowest monthly tier, all my problems would be solved. Of course, that's not actually possible.
