This experimental project presents a collection of audio portraits conceived as sonic paintings that interrogate contemporary society through abstraction. Drawing on the conventions of portraiture while rejecting representational fidelity, the works examine excess, alienation, and the often-unacknowledged violence embedded within modern life, prioritising the aesthetic and psychological weight of the grotesque, the fractured, and the unresolved. Voice operates as a mediating instrument, functioning as a verbal translation of an imagined painting and inviting the listener to actively reconstruct the image through subjective mental illustration shaped by personal memory, cultural context, and lived experience. By positioning sound as a guide for perception rather than an obscuring force, the project situates the listener as a co-creator and collapses distinctions between sound, writing, and visual practice, proposing an alternative model of reception in which meaning emerges through internal visualization rather than fixed representation. #abstractart #fineart #concept #exploring #experimental
