Some finds stop you in your tracks. This was one of them. Deep in a home in Sicily, we uncovered an extraordinary private collection of approximately 30 original chandeliers and over 10 wall sconces — a home layered with decades of design history and craftsmanship. Walking through the doors, you were immediately greeted by a magnificent 19th-century grandfather clock, but nothing prepared us for what came next. As we entered the main living space, there were no less than six chandeliers clustered together alongside beautiful original sconces, including a spectacular blue and clear Barovier e Toso squared tube wall light. Above us hung an astonishing collection of original polyhedra lighting, including multiple Carlo Scarpa for Venini pieces — true design icons and masterpieces of Venetian glassmaking. Even our staff stood there speechless. Not because of the value, but because moments like this are rare. You simply do not walk into a single home and find this level of original Italian lighting history gathered under one roof. And the story didn't end there. Beyond what we could film, the property revealed another 20 extraordinary lighting pieces including further Venini, Barovier and other remarkable discoveries that we're still carefully sourcing and preparing. This is what e Moderno is built on. We travel home by home, city by city and region by region throughout Italy searching for these incredible pieces of history — preserving them, restoring them, and bringing them back to Australia where they can continue to be admired for generations to come. And our passion for these originals extends beyond sourcing. These timeless masterpieces influence our own contemporary collections, inspiring us to embody the same craftsmanship, artistry and soul into every bespoke chandelier we create. The future is bright, and what we're uncovering next is only getting more extraordinary. Stay tuned. true monument of Italian design, the rare Fantasma Grande floor lamp by Tobia Scarpa for Flos stands as one of the most iconic and sculptural lighting designs ever produced. Conceived during the golden age of Italian modernism, the Fantasma transcends traditional lighting, existing instead as a luminous architectural form — soft, organic, atmospheric and instantly recognisable. Towering in presence and extraordinarily difficult to source in this scale, the Grande version embodies the genius of Tobia Scarpa’s experimental approach to light, texture and materiality. Constructed around an internal metal framework and enveloped in Flos’ revolutionary cocoon resin technique, the lamp emits a warm diffused glow that completely transforms a space. By day, it reads as an ethereal sculptural object; by night, it becomes an immersive source of ambient light with an almost dreamlike quality. The dramatic vertical silhouette, rhythmic contours and organic tension throughout the body create a presence that feels both futuristic and timeless — exactly why the Fantasma remains one of the most celebrated lighting designs in the history of Italian interiors. Pieces of this calibre are increasingly sought after by collectors, architects and designers worldwide, particularly original examples in such commanding proportions. Whether placed within a refined contemporary interior, a curated mid-century environment or a brutalist architectural setting, the Fantasma Grande anchors a space effortlessly while maintaining an extraordinary softness through illumination. It is not merely a floor lamp — it is a collectible piece of design history. Available now through e Moderno from our Tyabb warehouse, Melbourne. Worldwide shipping available. Exceptionally rare and highly sculptural Argo dining table attributed to Carlo Scarpa, executed in breathtaking Nero Marquina marble and presented in fully restored condition by all at e Moderno. A true statement piece of Italian modernist design, the Argo table embodies Scarpa’s unmistakable architectural philosophy — where sculpture, engineering, and timeless elegance merge into one seamless form. Carved entirely from richly figured Nero Marquina marble, this extraordinary table showcases dramatic white veining against a deep black polished surface, creating an almost liquid-like movement throughout the stone. The defining feature of the Argo lies within its monumental pedestal base. Composed of layered and curved marble supports, the structure creates an incredible sense of rhythm and balance, giving the piece a commanding architectural presence while still maintaining refinement and sophistication. Every angle reveals a new perspective, with light reflecting across the polished marble surfaces and accentuating the sculptural contours of the design. Fully restored and professionally finished, the marble has been carefully revitalised while preserving the integrity and soul of the original design. Ready to be shipped globally from our Melbourne warehouse. An incredibly rare opportunity to acquire one of the most iconic and sculptural Italian marble dining tables of the modernist era.
