since autumn last year I’ve been v privileged to be a Barbican Young Film Programmer, culminating in a film festival curated by our group last weekend. Chronic Youth Film Festival 2026 offered a variety of features, shorts and events celebrating DIY-filmmaking and the theme of “self documentation”. an absolute joy to have put together this event with this talented, driven and very lovely group of young creatives, and many thank you to the audiences for coming to see our programme and/or do some collage! Was also v privileged to co-host my first Q&A for queer mockumentary “Puppygirl” with the director and star, where I got into the spirit. 🎬🎞️❤️

Summer 2025 was about unemployment. It was Peach Jubels, Breath of the Wild, and Kesha. In a summer of weird setbacks (got scammed, got fired from a cruise ship for having ASTHMA which is deeply embarrassing for them wow), have managed to dance a hell of a lot. 🕺🪩 Highlights: - got burnt in Sitges - workshopped a new play - @charlie.rs.knight is a PhD now (Pretty Hot Dude) - hosted a murder mystery in Margate - read 4 books (rookie numbers I know but I’m getting there!) - finally saw Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Citizen Kane. One is the Citizen Kane of movies, the other is Citizen Kane.

I love gay people. I love trans people. I love women. I love London. I love love love my friends. Thanks for making a first ever trip to @mightyhoopla very special, sexy, and overwhelming in the best way. Highlights were the unhinged and deafening Defying Gravity singalong (with harmonies 💅) and my soul leaving my body when Ke$ha performed “take it off”. need a lie down now x

Tell the story. Whatever it takes. - It's here! We're delighted to be showing a work-in-progress performance of our new show "sicko" at the @omnibustheatre on 23 June, as part of the LGBTQ+ led 96 Festival. This has been a long-in-the-works project and we look forward to sharing it with you. Tickets are available from the link in our bio! - An artist dramatises real-life tragedy with the unwitting help of the culprit's descendants in this darkly funny satire. - 🍋🔥🌀

ROSE ILLINGWORTH: BORN TO THE BOATS - big thank you to @northernduck_productions for letting me run wild with 11+ characters! This was a really heartfelt show staged on-board the Kennet and what a pleasure to learn about and tell the under-known story of Bradfords canalboat workers for @bradford_2025 ! Maybe I never did quite learn to play the accordion but I gave it a good go! - 🦆❤️
