Echo resonates with the depths below, while Dawn rises in its wake. Through his performances, he invites the audience into a dialogue — a narrative that takes shape in motion, where rhythm, ambiance and emotion converge into moments of collective release. @gougere.des.martyrs crawled out of Arles, disguising themselves in endless adornments. Starting with an instinctual practice led by emotion, sentiment and identity, Fadi explores fiction as a medium to reach knowledge. Tussen de spoorwegen die leiden naar het Brusselse Zuidstation en de drukke wegen van het Anderlechtse Kuregem, vond in het weekend van 4 & 5 oktober de lancering plaats van een nieuw collectief: breathing grounds. Het collectief heeft als hoofddoel een onbesproken narratief naar voren te brengen dat zich etaleert wanneer kunst en geluid samenkomen. Waar zaterdag vooral in het teken stond van het stilstaande dat gepresenteerd werd als exposities afkomstig van hedendaags kunstenaarscollectief Curando, werd de dag erop verder gebouwd op dit elan. Meer bepaald in de vorm van een auditief luik met stukken van gedurfde performances en dj-sets. De kunstwerken stonden hun plaats als centrale blikvangers af, en gingen de achtergrond vormen waartegen zich een verhaal afspeelde en dus een geheel ging vromen. Lilian Cardoso is a Brazilian filmmaker and producer based in Brussels since 2021, where she came to pursue her master’s in creative documentary film directing. Formally schooled in the gaze towards the other, she is extending her practice to performance and storytelling beyond the screens, where the gaze shifts towards herself. In this new chapter of theatrical, body and spatial experimentation, she uses pole dancing and femininity as a spectacle; where drama, desire, disgust and humour come into imperfect play.
