A Self-Portrait of Value 💰
In “Self Portrait No. 5,” the dollar sign is both elevated and reduced to pattern.
The cutout… an illusion. What looks to be a void is entirely hand-painted.
The repetition of the symbol becomes subject, meaning and structure, with a hierarchy emerging through context alone.
Wow, that seems really sophisticated.
You should definitely join us for the opening reception of this solo exhibition:

“Once Upon a Field” 58 x 102 in / acrylic on canvas
A stage set with no cast or narrative. The light in the painting blends with the room, and the receding field of flowers invites you to take a step inside and feel that connection that’s always there, waiting for you.
