Dread Dragon (
@_dread.dragon_ ) found flow just over three years ago, and it’s been fire ever since. What began as a personal ritual quickly became a lifeline - dancing with the dragon staff pulled her from the depths of despair and into the firelight, surrounding her with warmth, rhythm, and purpose.
More than a fire performer, Dread Dragon sees herself as a flow artist - drawn to the meditative, primal connection shared between sound, movement, and flame. Her style is intuitive and expressive, favouring soul over structure. She moves to whatever sparks the heart’s fire, with a special love for anything rooted in jazz, funk, or hip hop - but will flow to whatever calls her into motion.
She has performed at a range of events including the Newcastle Show, Bitter & Twisted Boutique Beer Festival, and Festival of the Sun. But her favourite performances have always been the grassroots gatherings - flowing at events hosted by Newy Bass Crew, Cabin Fever Crew, and Higher Ground, or melting into the music at a gritty warehouse session like Sashimi's. Whether on stage or in the shadows, her practice is about presence, connection, and losing herself in the flow.
