in the midst of these heartbreaking fires, something incredible has emerged— the unshakable beauty of LA’s heart. as a chicago native who’s called this city home for 14 years, i’ve never seen this city come together like this. the outpouring of love, support, and resources for those affected has been overwhelming in the most humbling way. from the donations to the initiatives rising up everywhere, it’s clear: we are stronger when we unite.
in times like these, i’m reminded of the verse, ‘where two or three are gathered in My Name, there I am with them.’ (matthew 18:20). we are not alone in this. through faith and community, we can overcome any trial. as a dj, i’ve always known how powerful music can be in bringing people together, but in times like these, it feels even more essential. the connections we create through sound are more than just rhythms— they’re lifelines. music is a gift, and through it, we find strength, healing, and hope in the darkest of times.
moving forward, i want to be more intentional in how and where i share music, honoring the unity it creates in moments like this, and remembering that every beat, every note, is a reminder of God’s love and presence.
