All I wanted for my 30th birthday was to pour into myself and share something I’ve been working on with you.
When I wrote Clueless to Designer five years ago, I had no idea where it would lead me or the thousands of people who read it and have been impacted by it. To date, the ripple effect of that book continues to resonate across generations, changing lives.
One year later, I released “Dear Designer, Write Journal,” which became a valuable tool and companion for many creatives worldwide.
I’ve published more than seven career resources since then, multiple blogs, newsletters, and lengthy, valuable captions. I’ve never stopped writing.
However, I knew my third book had to be different from a guide or tool. I wanted it to be a manifesto that captures the past decade of my life, the quiet truths about my career, the mindset, actions and risks that have carried me through.

five years. can you believe it?
it still feels like yesterday you arrived with bright eyes and possibility. since then, you’ve achieved even greater than what you once imagined. you learned more than anyone could have taught you. life became your professor in business, friendships, relationships.
you’ve grown stronger and wiser beyond your years. you trust yourself wholly now, and it’s beautiful to experience. your eyes are still bright, but steadier and more certain. your wisdom came from experience, risk, love, solitude, and ambition.
you are a full-time entrepreneur, running multiple successful ventures. the distance between the job that brought you here and the life you now live feels like another lifetime. you’ve secured your place here, and it suits you perfectly.
today also feels like the beginning of an even brighter chapter.

when i first moved to london, i had that familiar excitement many immigrants know: i wanted to see everywhere. somewhere along the way, especially these last couple of years, i stopped seeing travel as something i needed to chase. it'll meet me where i’m going. i published a substack on this in december.
for ILR, you cannot exceed 180 days outside the UK in any 12-month period. photo memories plus airport stamps helped track my absence during my application.
