The Internal Selection by Parkett is back, a space dedicated to giving voice and visibility to those who have something meaningful to say and to make us listen. This month we present
@_deshique_ , an Andalusian DJ from Seville.
Deshique is a Spanish DJ and producer who focuses mainly on electronic music, but not exclusively. In their sets, or, as they like to call them, rebujinas (a Spanish word meaning “a mix of things”), you can find various styles of electronic music: deconstructed club, ghetto/electro, breakcore and gabber, footwork, Brazilian funk, with a strong preference for the UK sound, including 2-step, dubstep, jungle, breaks, bass and drum ’n’ bass.
Deshique has performed at well-known festivals in Spain such as
@electrolvnch and Iconica Fest, alongside artists like
@califato_3x4 and
@addisongroove , among others. For our dedicated section, Deshique has prepared a mix that constantly evolves throughout the session, characterized by gritty, mechanical, gasping sounds, moments of introspection that give way to raw, unfiltered tension. We truly loved it and had a chat directly with them.
