ARTISTAS NG BAYAN IN SOLIDARITY WITH PEASANTS IN THE PHILIPPINES!
This dance offering performed by Candace Kumar and Christina de la Cruz emerges from BABAElan, a choreographic work by Blessyl Buan originally commissioned by the Art Gallery of Ontario for the Pacita Abad exhibition in 2025 and later remounted at Dusk Dances and Citadel Dance Exchange. What you will witness is a dance improvisation derived from its choreographic processâan echo of its worlds shaped by myth, labour, and ritual.

I came to @dancemakersto hoping to support dance artists the way I had always hoped for myself and my peers.
This season, I feel especially grateful to Abel, Rumi, Meichen, Whitney, Lamont and Sanjukta for trusting me to care for and champion their projects. They are making the dance I think the world needs. Workshops with Zaytouna, Kosi and Furqan were the extra special icing on the cake!!!
